Muslim World RANIA Award 2024: Recognises Women’s Success

KUALA LUMPUR, 25 February 2024: The Muslim World RANIA Award 2024 ceremony was held on Friday, 23 February 2024 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). 

The prestigious event was organized by the Association of Muslim World Business, Malaysia in collaboration with the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) of Morocco which is a subsidiary organisation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). 

Besides, it was also supported by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development of Malaysia and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia and Community Development of Malaysia and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia. 

This event was officiated by the first lady of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office of Malaysia. 

Additionally, the award ceremony was attended by the Guest of Honour, YB Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail, and Malaysia’s Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development, YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri.

The award is intended to recognise and appreciate the rights of all women worldwide by highlighting remarkable Muslim women who have endured significant hurdles on their path to attaining achievements and brilliance in all sections of life.

The Muslim World RANIA Award 2024 awardees were from United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Nigeria, Singapore, Iran, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Malaysia. They were: Dr. Arshi Ayub Zaveri, Madam Amy Chew, Madam Elain Lockman, H.E. Bahrani Ambassador Dr. Bahia Al-Jishi, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Mazlan Othman, Datin Dr. Hajah Hartini Osman, Dr. Laylah Ali Othman, Dr. Fadilah Majid, Madam Zenda Ng, YB Dato Sri Azalina Othman, Dr. Maryam Tajabadi, Tan Sri Zarinah Anwar, Madam Michelle Hah, and H.E. Madam Aissata Tall Sall.

The award ceremony was one of the events of The Muslim World Women’s Summit which is scheduled to take place in June 2024, emphasizing the role of women as powerful agents of change and progress.***
