Participate in a poetry competition!

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 April 2024: IIUM Poetry Club, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Islam Malaysia (PERKIM) IIUM Club and IIUM Malay Language and Literature Club (MALLIC) are collaborating to organise a Poetry Competition which will be held from 5 April to 23 April 2024.

As the Holy month of Ramadan has just ended, this poetry competition aims to foster the love for writing among students and allows them to express their appreciation for the month of Ramadan and for the current Eid.

To participate, contestants must write a poem, puisi, or pantun that revolves around the themes of Ramadan, Eid, and unity. 

Each participant must also follow IIUM Poetry Club’s Instagram and choose whether to write in English or Malay. Additionally, any submission must be the owner’s original work.

The IIUM Poetry Club also encourages everyone to participate, as its representative beckons all to participate, “So dear poets, let your imagination soar as you reflect on the lessons of Ramadan and Eid and the beauty of coming together as one community.”
