Gombak, 21 December 2023: Today, at the Human Sciences Square of the Human Sciences Building of AHAS KIRKHS, IIUM Gombak, a fantastic exhibition took place. In partnership with eight organizations that support persons with disabilities (PwDs), COMM3560: Integrated Marketing Communication students, COSA, and SUPPORT organized this exciting event, which was the Exhibition of Empowering Persons with Disabilities through Entrepreneurship.

The event’s main goal was to provide a platform for PwD-related organizations in order to highlight what they do, helped by IMC students. The daily entrepreneurial activities that empower PwDs were the focus of the sharing sessions. The organisations also had the chance to sell their items, fostering an atmosphere that supports entrepreneurship in the PwD community.

The exhibition, which was accessible to everyone, sought to educate viewers about the perspectives of PwDs and emphasise the critical role that entrepreneurship plays in their emancipation. The main goal of the event was to spark conversations that would increase public knowledge of the organizations, shed light on PwD experiences, and increase sales of their products. In the end, the exhibition provided a forum for awareness-raising, information exchange, and support about the right to self-determination for PwDs.

In the field of education, inclusion is critical to guarantee that every student, irrespective of disabilities or challenges, has the chance to succeed. Special education is essential for encouraging achievements and self-sufficiency amongst PwDs because of its customized approach to addressing individual characteristics. In this regard, the K-LINK Care Centre, as one of the exhibitors, is a noteworthy example, committing itself to provide inclusive settings, job development, and education for children with disabilities. The organization’s dedication to providing a supportive and stimulating environment for children with disabilities is demonstrated by its emphasis on professional training, individualized instruction, and creating an inclusive environment.***
