GOMBAK, 28 November 2023: Nur Aisyah Bt Nurazman insisted that effective time management allowed for sufficient free time, and avoiding procrastination was the key to balancing between her study and co-curricular activities well. “Complete your tasks early and focus on what you want to achieve,” she mentioned to IIUM Today in an exclusive interview.
A graduand of the Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT), Aisyah was conferred her degree and the Best Student (Co-Curricular) Award for her outstanding performance, in the third session of the 39th IIUM Convocation Ceremony on Sunday (26 November 2023). She had received the award from a member of the IIUM Board of Governors (BOG), His Excellency Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin at IIUM Gombak.
Aisyah confessed to IIUM Today that she was surprised by the award as she never considered herself as a student who was actively participating in co-curricular activities. Regardless, she conveyed her gratitude for the blessing.
When asked about her co-curricular achievements to win the award, she revealed, “While I had participated in some national-level events and a few committee activities, much of my involvement had been within the university setting.”
For her, IIUM students should actively engage in co-curricular involvement as the unique experiences gained from participating in university activities with friends are irreplaceable.
She explained her future plan on gathering more professional experience, exploring achievements in her work, and continuing to expland her knowledge in employment.
When asked further on the inspiring message for future graduates, she emphasized that IIUM students should never give up, strive diligently to meet their goals, and savour the student life experience.
“Challenges may lie ahead, but choosing persistence over surrender is paramount,” she added.
She firmly held on to her principles of life that are to always place trust in Allah, and persist in pursuing one’s goals without giving in to anxiety for her to be successful.
She concluded the interview by expressing her gratitude to her family and friends as her sources of inspiration.***
