CITRA OPEN DAY 2023: Explores diverse IIUM clubs

GOMBAK, 14 October 2023: The eagerly anticipated exhibition organised by the IIUM Centre for Arts and Cultural Sustainable Development (CiTRA), that was held during Citra Open Day 2023 offered an exciting showcase of the booths of various IIUM clubs.

It was scheduled for three days October 11 until October 13. This event had taken place in Foyer 2 of the IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC).

The diverse array of clubs that participated included Angklung, Andeka Caklempong, Nasyeed, Percussion, Acoustic, Film, Nafastari, Seni Gema Gangsa, Poetry, and MALLIC.

The objective of this event was to introduce students to CiTRA’s offerings and to encouraged them to join as new members as the clubs seek a growing number of club memberships among students.

The Program Coordinator for the CiTRA Opening 2023 exhibition, Nurul Eliya Natasha mentioned before the event, “Everything has been going well. We’ve had open mic sessions near the river side and other clubs promoting their activities as well. We also had a theater performance on 12th October and a grand concert tonight on 13th October.

Regarding the mission and vision, Nurul Eliya Natasha expressed before the event, “We hope for the three days the CiTRA exhibition will run smoothly. We’ve taken steps to make it more engaging such as set up a photo booth and provided a PA system to keep the atmosphere lively. We have accomplished to attract more students to the booths, hopefully on the last day we will have more visitors.

In her closing remarks on the event, œAs the committee for CiTRA , we would greatly appreciate it if most students join the grand concert, which is the main event for our program. We hope the last CiTRA event will be a full-house, memorable experience for all.” ***
