Hopes and Expectations: New Heads of Research at IIUM

GOMBAK, August 4 2023: The Research Management Centre (RMC) welcomed the new Heads of Research from the Gombak, Pagoh, and Kuantan campuses on the 3rd of August 2023 at the RMC Conference Room of IIUM Gombak.

In light of RMC’s hope and expectations of new Heads of Research at IIUM, Madam Nor Aminah Kostor, the Administrative Director of the IIUM RMC, sat in an interview with IIUMToday.

Madam Nor Aminah expressed that RMC is hopeful of the new Heads of Research from all Kulliyyahs as they start their new tenure. 

When asked about her expectations from the new Heads of Research she said, “I hope that new members can be more aggressive in motivating staff to conduct research and innovation activities in all Kulliyyah.”

She encouraged new Heads of Research to have a close engagement with RMC to ensure that research and innovation activities in the IIUM are always advancing.

RMC would also like to gain more principal investigators in the IIUM. “Currently, the IIUM has a five-star rating in the Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA), but the number of principal investigators is only 48 percent, while the organisation aims to reach 70 percent of principal researchers at IIUM,” she added.

In the final words of her interview, she expressed her hope that there will be more research projects conducted by the Kulliyyahs in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) so as to serve the community as whole.
