GOMBAK, 17 November 2024: The third session of the 40th IIUM Convocation Ceremony witnessed the conferment of postgraduate diplomas and bachelor’s degrees upon 682 graduands of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) and the Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT) on 17 November, at IIUM Gombak.
The ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Higher Education, Senator Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry bin Abdul Kadir.
The IIUM Rector, Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar, delivered an inspiring speech in the session. He encouraged law graduands to confront injustice and to do justice to voiceless people. While ICT graduands were advised to uphold Islamic values in technology. He also encouraged postgraduate diploma holders to blend academic knowledge with practical experience, and to always act with humility, service, and integrity.
In this session, a total of seven graduates received the Kulliyyah awards. They were:
Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT) :
- Nurhidayu Binti Ishak: Abdullah Ibnu Ummi Maktum Special Achievement Award
- Bawazier Najla Geis Junaid: Best Overall Student
- Nur Zulfah Insyirah Binti Fadzleey: Best Academic Student
- Alqershi Abdullah Abdulrahman Abdulhak: Best Co-Curricular Student
Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL):
- Shahd Munir Lalmahamood: Best Overall Student
- Ahmad Harith Bin Johari: Best Academic Student
- Atirah Binti Mohd Azuarizanuddin: Best Co-Curricular Student
The awards were presented to excellent graduates by the Deputy Rector (Academic and Internationalisation), Professor Dr. Ahmad Faris Ismail.***
