GOMBAK, 5 December 2023: Nurrulaini Ahmad has proven that in spite of her physical disability, she won the Abdullah Ibnu Ummi Maktum Special Achievement Award (Academic) in the first session (25 November 2023) of the 39th IIUM Convocation Ceremony, at IIUM Gombak.
œI feel thankful to Allah and speechless because I never expected that I could achieve it and I’m so grateful that Allah gave me this opportunity, said the graduate of Kulliyyah of Education (KOED), majoring in Guidance & Counseling when expressing her gratitude upon receiving the award.
With the support from her friends and lecturers, Ainis four year journey at the IIUM had been smooth and she had not encountered many difficulties.
When asked about her motivation to keep on studying, she emphasised that her biggest and strongest supporters were her parents and other family members. She dedicated her studies to her family, and she would never have been at the convocation without their assistance.
œEven though I do have some up and down moments, I kept thinking about them and my plan in my life that I wanted to achieve, which were the reasons why I kept going till the end, she mentioned.
She also added that she never forgot to ask her mum to pray for her and bless her in everything she did as she believed in the power of her mom’s Du’a.
œBe good with everyone and your lecturer especially and keep focusing on attending classes and completing assignments, she advised.
As for her future plan, Aini plans to further her study for a Master’s of Clinical Psychology at any university in the United Kingdom and become a professional Clinical Psychologist in a private hospital in Malaysia.***
