39th IIUM Convocation: 474 Bachelor’s degree graduands receive scrolls in third session

GOMBAK, 26 November 2023: A total of 474 bachelor’s degree graduands from the Kulliyyah of Education (KOED) and Kulliyyah of Information and Technology (KICT), were awarded their degrees in the third session of the 39th IIUM Convocation Ceremony, today. It was an afternoon session that took place in the Main Hall of the IIUM Cultural Centre, IIUM Gombak.

The third session began with the opening declaration by a member of the IIUM Board of Governors, Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin.

The opening declaration was then followed by the recitation of Sura Al-‘Alaq by Ustaz Mohd Rashid Ridha bin Mohd Shukri from the Centre of Languages and Pre-University Academic Development (CELPAD) of the IIUM.

Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin announced the convocation address and asserted, œI would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the graduates and also the award winners.

In the third session, the Deputy Rector (Academic and Internationalisation) and Chairman of the 39th IIUM Convocation Ceremony, Professor Dr. Ahmad Faris Ismail presented the awards.

The presentation of awards went to the following KOED graduands:

  1. Nurulaini Ahmad received the Abdullah Ibn Ummi Maktum Special Achievement Award (Academic).
  2. Hasnur Insyirah binti Hasnul Hadi received the Best Student (Overall) award.
  3. Nur Darwisyah Nabila binti Md Amir received the Best Student (Academic) award.
  4. Khalidah Adibah binti Abu Zarim received the Best Student (Co-Curricular) award and Budi award.

The presentation of awards also went to the following KICT graduands:

  1. Nurulaimi Hannani binti Mohammad received the Best Student (Overall) award.
  2. Muhammad Fitri bin Mohd Sultan received the Best Student (Academic) award.
  3. Nur Aisyah binti Norazman received the Best Student (Co-Curricular) award.

The valedictorian speech was delivered by a graduand from the Kulliyyah of Education (KOED), Hasnur Insyirah Hasnul Hadi.

The ceremony ended with a dua recitation led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nik Md. Saiful Azizi Nik Abdullah of the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC) and an adjournment of the ceremony was declared by Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin.***
