GOMBAK, 7 March 2016: The Caring Club Welcoming Gathering (WeGath) held at Engineering Coliseum today had drawn more than 100 participants exceeding the target set by the club.

The gathering aimed at introducing new members to existing members as well as to the mainboard, while at the same time creating a stronger bond between them.

The event started with a Multimedia presentation of Caring Club and a mainboard gimmick, before a speech was delivered by the President of Caring Club, Ahmad Farhan Shahrul Azhar.

Participants were divided according to orphanage houses assigned to them, under Caring Clubs very own Mayang Programme, which focused on mentoring in selected orphanages in Gombak and Batu Caves areas.

The five houses were Rumah Faeez, Rumah Permata Hatiku, Rumah Nur Qaseh and Rumah Anbu Ilam. The games conducted for the participants who competed between the houses received an overwhelming response.

The activity ended with a special ˜Xi Shua Shua dance led by the mainboard team followed by a photography session and a supper was held. Participants expressed satisfaction with the programme hoping for more activities under Caring Club.

Caring Club is the only club in IIUM under Centre for Community Engagement (BUDI) IIUM which focuses on the development of the orphans. The club will also be organising its Caring Facilitating Induction Course (CFIX 5.0) this coming 12 and 13 March 2016.***
