GOMBAK, 11 March 2016: Â PEMBINA IIUM Chapter and INSPIRE CLUB organised a Mega Food Festival at Convest Hill, IIUM Gombak, with the aim to accumulate funds to be used afterwards by all members of the clubs and strengthen the bonds between them.
The festival was held for five days (7 to 11 March 2016) from 12 p.m to 10 p.m following the launching by the Deputy Rector (Student Affairs), Prof. Datuk Dr. Mizan Hitam.
At the festival, members of the university community could also enjoy a variety of foods sold by more than 40 market vendors, most of them are by young IIUM entrepreneurs and alumni.
A part from that, there were some interesting events such as  happy hour free ice cream from  5-6 p.m & 7-8 p.m (for early birds), guitar performance, beat-box, archery, giant bubbles, dart games, song performance, nasyeed performance and roller blade.
œThis festival is a good starting point for the Usrah-based club like PEMBINA to develop their potential in doing something important to yield an extraordinary result, said Datuk Dr. Mizan during his speech at the opening ceremony.
Programme Manager for Mega Food Festival, Muhammad Sabil Daud said, œI hope this festival would gain as much support from members of IIUM because this would be our foundation for the future events.
œI also hope that this Mega Food Festival can bring the spirit of togetherness for these two societies between IIUM PEMBINA chapter and INSPIRE CLUB with no more term of two different entities,” he added.
Nur Syahirah Shahroel Nizam, a second year student from the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, said, œPeople should visit this festival if they do not want to miss the chance to taste the variety of foods and enjoy the interesting activities.
