GOMBAK March 19, 2025: As the blessed month of Ramadan unfolds, the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) continues its tradition of fostering unity, sharing, and compassion through the Bubur Lambuk distribution program. On this significant day, the Center of Postgraduate Studies (CPS), in collaboration with the Postgraduate Student Society (PGSS) and Kulliyah of Engineering (KOE) organized a special Bubur Lambuk which event held at the Kulliyyah of Engineering, aimed at strengthening the bond among postgraduate students, staff, and the wider IIUM community while embracing the values of Ramadan.

Ramadan is not only a time of spiritual reflection and self-discipline but also a time of togetherness and generosity. The Bubur Lambuk program, a cherished tradition in Malaysia, symbolizes these values. The porridge, cooked with a blend of spices, meat, and coconut milk, is a well-loved dish often prepared in mosques and shared among the community. At IIUM, this initiative serves as more than just a culinary tradition—it is a means of fostering engagement and camaraderie among students and staff alike.

For postgraduate students, balancing academic responsibilities with personal and spiritual commitments during Ramadan can be challenging. Events like these provide a much-needed moment of respite, allowing students to connect with one another beyond their studies. The Bubur Lambuk distribution was not just about sharing food but also about supporting one another in the postgraduate journey, which often involves managing coursework, research, and personal well-being. It served as a reminder that postgraduate life, while demanding, is also enriched by a sense of community and shared experience.***

The collaboration between CPS and PGSS showcased the spirit of ukhuwah (brotherhood), as participants worked hand in hand to prepare and distribute the Bubur Lambuk to students and staff across the campus. The initiative was well received, with many expressing appreciation for the warmth and generosity reflected in the event. Beyond providing nourishment for those fasting, the event fostered meaningful interactions, cultural exchange, and an appreciation for the shared values of kindness and gratitude.***
