GOMBAK, 20 May 2024: To commemorate their collaboration of MINDA Partnership, a signing ceremony was held to strengthen the collaborators’ unity.
MINDA Partnership is a collaborative effort between Counselling and Career Service Centre (CCSC), PEERS IIUM, IIUM Student Union, Secretariat of Psychology (PSYCTA) and Council of Counselling Students IIUM (CCSI).
In conjunction with IIUM Mental Health Awareness Month 2024 (I-MHAM) and Bulan PRS Kebangsaan 2024, MINDA Partnership was organised as a two-day event from 20-21 May 2024 at HS Square with open booth exhibitions and mental health discourses.
Each of the collaborator’s representative, Head Department of Mental Wellbeing Department in Office of Welfare from IIUM Student Union, Br Qaleed bin Mohd Halim, Chairperson of PSYCSTA, Sr Amanina Hussaini Binti Dzulkeflee, President of CCSI, Br Aniq Hilman Bin Herjohari, The President of IIUM Gombak Peers and also the President of the National Peers Representative Council PRS Kebangsaan IPT from MAKUMA, Br Imad Hassan Basri Abdul Halim and finally, President of IIUM Student Union Br Ali Karimi Bin Mohd Nasri , gave their speeches that mainly touches on the partnership and their hopes of the event.
In her speech, Sr Amanina said, “In terms of advocating mental health, this event today will be a solid mark for us to strengthen our friendship and make it sustainable so that it last as long as it can. So I hope that today’s signing will be a momentous moment for us all and we will continue our advocative efforts.”
Meanwhile, Br Ali Karimi, President of IIUM Student Union, expressed his gratitude to MINDA partners also added, “I believe that MINDA Partnership would benefit the students who battle with mental health issues.”
We need to overcome the stigma of mental health issues by acknowledging it in order to increase mental health awareness, especially among students.***
