GOMBAK, 29 November 2023: The sixth session of the 39th IIUM Convocation Ceremony, which celebrated 608 IIUM graduands from AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS) and Kulliyyah of Language and Management (KLM), took place in the main hall of the IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC), IIUM Gombak, yesterday (28 November).
The session saw IIUM graduands from various departments of the Islamic Revealed Knowledge division receiving their scrolls. They included 117 graduands of Bachelor of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Heritage (IRKH) (Honours) in Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh, 95 graduands of Bachelor of IRKH (Honours) in Quran and Sunnah Studies, 75 graduands of Bachelor of IRKH (Honours) in Usul Al-Din and Comparative Religion, and 76 graduands of Bachelor of IRKH (Honours) in Arabic Language and Literature.
For Kulliyyah of Language and Management (KLM), graduands from various departments at the Kulliyyah also received their scrolls for various degrees. They were awarded to graduands who had completed the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Arabic for International Communication (35 graduands), Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English for International Communication (Honours) (70 graduands), Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Malay for International Communication (82 graduands), Bachelor of Tourism Management (Honours) (34 graduands) and Bachelor of Tourism Planning and Hospitality Management (Honours) (24 graduands).
The event was followed by the presentation of Kulliyyah level awards, featuring seven awards presented by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Faris Ismail, the Chairman of the 39th IIUM Convocation Ceremony and Deputy Rector (Academic and Internationalisation).
The recipients of the Kulliyyah Level Awards were as follows for AHAS KIRKHS :
- Ahmad Danial Mohd Sani (Amru Ibn Al-Jamuh Special Achievement award (Co-Curricular)
- Nur Hadirah Hanim binti Abu Bakar (Best Student, Overall)
- Hafizah binti Mohd Rusli (Best Student, Academic)
- Wan Nabihah binti Wan Abdul Razak (Best Student, Co-Curricular)
The award winners from KLM were:
- NurDamia Qistina binti Mohd Azmi (Best Student, Overall)
- Nurhani binte Rehan (Best Student, Academic)
- Ika Zulaikha binti Sidek (Best Student, Co-Curricular)
Hafizah binti Mohd Rusli, in her valedictorian speech, congratulated the graduates on their achievements and reminded them to remain having good morals and character (Akhlaq), since knowledge alone is not sufficient for one to become a high-quality khalifah.***
