GOMBAK, 26 November 2023:  Khalif Bin Noor Azman, a 23-year-old talent has made waves at IIUM’s Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) by clinching the prestigious Rector’s Award at the 39th IIUM Convocation Ceremony, yesterday. The memorable event took place at the IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC) of IIUM Gombak.

Khalif’s highly anticipated award is attributed to his outstanding achievements when he was a student; he attained a high CGPA in his academics and actively participated in co-curricular activities.

œ…my personal drive pushes me to give my very best in whatever I do, as I want to be a positive influence for others. Given my passion for design, I want to make sure it looks good, he said when asked about what motivated him to excel in his studies.

His dedication extended to his study habits, choosing the quiet hours of the night for focused and distraction-free studying, until dawn.

Surrounded by a competitive and supportive circle of friends, he emphasized the importance of being in a healthy competitive environment, which happened since his first year. It was where he and his friends pushed each other to strive for excellence.

Khalif excelled not only for being a diligent student, but also for his role as an effective leader. He was the Vice President of the KAED Student Society (ARCHIMIC), at one point.

Reflecting on memorable experiences, Khalif highlighted his final project, “OASIS: Rebranding of Tanjung Piai Resort,” which not only earned him recognition but also secured a spot for him among the top 12 at the AYDA Awards.

Offering advice to fellow aspiring designers, Khalif expressed, œDon’t be scared and dont worry about what others might think. Be unique, and youll catch peoples attention. Its important to have your own unique style in design to stand out and be noticed. ***
