GOMBAK, 12 April 2026: The IPRMSA IIUM Chapter celebrated its 25th anniversary on 11th April 2026 at Banquet Hall, IIUM Cultural Centre. The launch of a commemorative book, highlighting the organisation’s legacy, achievements, and contributions to the field of public relations.
The book was produced in conjunction with the 25th anniversary celebration. It documents the chapter’s journey since its establishment, capturing stories, experiences, and reflections from alumni, advisors, and members. It serves not only as a record of achievements but also as a tribute to the collective efforts that have shaped the chapter over the years.
The event brings together alumni from different batches, ranging from the 2000s to current members, reflecting the strong bond and continuity within the chapter.
The Programme Director and President of the IPRMSA IIUM Chapter’s 25th anniversary, Nur Nazifah Binti Mohamad Nazri says, “It reflects the dedication, resilience, and contributions of generations of members, mainboards, advisors, and founders who have built the chapter into what it is today,” she said.
She added that the book also highlights the role of the chapter in empowering students with essential public relations skills for the future.
Nazifah described the process as one of the most meaningful contributions during her time in the chapter, emphasising the importance of teamwork and commitment.
“It is hoped that this book will inspire current and future members, reminding them that every contribution, no matter how small, plays a role in maintaining the legacy of this chapter,” she added.
The anniversary event also featured welcoming remarks by Associate Professor Dr. Zeti Azreen Binti Ahmad, the advisor of IPRMSA IIUM Chapter, who emphasised that the celebration was not merely about achievements, but about appreciating those who have contributed to the chapter’s growth.
She further highlighted how the student chapter helps connect what students learn in class with real industry experience, adding that engagement with public relations practitioners and alumni makes the learning more relevant and practical. “The existence of the student chapter enables learning to go beyond the classroom,” she said.
In addition, she expressed hope that the celebration and the commemorative book would strengthen the bond between the chapter and its community. “We hope this initiative will continue to connect alumni, students, and practitioners, while preserving the chapter’s legacy for future generations,” she added.
Meanwhile, IPRM President, Mr. Jaffri Amin Osman, was present at the event and highlighted the importance of student chapters in nurturing future public relations practitioners and strengthening the connection between students and the industry.
Hence, the IPRMSA IIUM chapter was founded by YBhg Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Syed Arabi Bin Syed Abdullah Idid, who emphasised the importance of sustaining the chapter’s legacy in developing future professionals in the field. The chapter continues to receive strong support from the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia, alumni, and the wider public relations community.***
