GOMBAK, 18 November 2023: “We feel very honored and very pleased with Tan Sri President’s visit to our Kulliyyah,” said the Dean of AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS), Prof. Dr. Shukran Abd Rahman in an interview with IIUMToday.

The President of the IIUM, Tan Sri Samsudin Osman is expected to be making his first ever visit to AHAS KIRKHS next Monday (20 November). The President’s visit is something very meaningful to the Kulliyyah, mentioned Prof. Dr. Shukran.

According to Prof. Dr. Shukran, the items and activities that were to be included in the President’s visit to the Kulliyyah were prepared and formulated a month in advance.

To his knowledge, the visit is to allow Tan Sri Samsudin to get to know the Kulliyyah and its people better.

“In the visit, we wish to highlight the unique features and competitive advantage that we have as well as our distinctive competencies such as integration, Islamization and relevantization agendas in our organization,” he said.

He also wishes to showcase the focus of the Kulliyyah which is to teach students how to apply concepts to explain different phenomena and solve problems.

“Our life will not only be successful just because of technology but also because of the human factor, the latter encompasses values which enable us to live in harmony with others,” said Prof. Dr. Shukran.

He mentioned that as a Kulliyyah, AHAS KIRKHS has been operating for 33 years and stands as a centre for fundamental knowledge in the initial seven years. Thus far, the Kulliyyah has made various achievements at the national and international level.

“The visit exemplifies his support of the Kulliyyah’s direction and we look forward to having his advice as he is an experienced top government officer. His remarks will enable us to assess on what else is to be done in our Kulliyyah,” he added.

As his final remark, he expects the visit to boost the Kulliyyah’s visibility and motivation to work harder and make people more aware of Islamic revealed knowledge and human sciences as a domain of knowledge in enabling the country to attain a high level of progress.***
