GOMBAK, 27 March 2023: According to Prof. Dr. Shukran Abd Rahman, Dean of AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS), the Ihya’ Ramadhan Programme that was launched last Wednesday (22 March) is aimed for students to internalise the spirit of Ramadhan to its maximum.
Through launching the Ihya’ Ramadhan Programme, Prof. Dr. Shukran expressed his gratitude of the Secretariat consisting of students “who have been working hard on this programme for it to run smoothly.”
In an interview with IIUMToday, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Noh Abdul Jalil, the Deputy Dean of Student Development and Community Engagement, mentioned that “although we may take a break from our regular activities, I believe education should continue as normal, when asked whether having online classes is necessary during Ramadhan.
He added that the students of IIUM should use this time to further their knowledge and seek out new things to better themselves.
œThe purpose of the Ihya’ Ramadhan launch is to create an opportunity for students to learn and expand their horizons with their friends and to enhance their engagement with one another, he added.
He believed that the programme will benefit the students by helping them acquire and pursue knowledge and give them a chance to learn things outside of the classroom.
Likewise, Prof. Dr. Shukran urged students “to be immersed in Ramadhan so that we can recognize the source of Revealed Knowledge and fully appreciate Ramadhan.
In his concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Shukran advised students to be inspired to improve themselves as it can help motivate them to become better Muslims and contribute to many things.***
