GOMBAK, 15 December 2022: The election of the Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences Student Society (IRKHSSS) saw eight out of ten chairperson seats won unchallenged.
One of the winner was Ammar bin Adlan, a third-year Quran and Sunnah (QS) student, who intended to carry on the legacy of the Secretariat Quran and Sunnah (QUSA) by serving as a centre for students to connect with the department and the kulliyyah.
Ammar recently spoke to IIUMToday about the candidates who won election in the KIRKHSSS Election, and elaborated his manifestos declared below:
- To facilitate the communication between students and the department
- To help develop the QS students ability and skills in various tools required pursuing Islamic studies
- To help ensure the welfare of QS students
- To collaborate with Secretariat of Fiqh and Usul Fiqh (SOFI) and Secretariat of Usuluddin and Comparative Religion (UDCY) in maintaining the ukhuwwah in IRK students as a whole
œWhat Im trying to do basically anything for the betterment of my fellow students of the department whether it concerns the academic or welfare matter, he said.
Ammar explained that a good leader must have good skill in order to lead the team under them efficaciously, along with effective communication skills in order to communicate with each and every student and acquire a better grasp of their needs.
The uncontested winner stated that he believed that equal representation of men and women is valuable given that each of them can voice the challenges that both parties face.
œI do not see any troubles in reality because, in my personal view, some of the IRKHSS secretariat has a higher representation of women. It’s encouraging to see, and the most crucial thing is that the skills and how they work are far more essential than the gender, he said.
This secretariat also hoped to expand its network by reaching to the general public and various communities outside of academic circles.
