GOMBAK, 15 December 2022: The Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences Students Society (IRKHSSS) Election 2022 announced a few candidates from the Council of Chairperson, one of which is the second-year student of the Secretariat of Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh candidate, Muhammad Ukasyah bin Mohamad Kamarudin.
In an interview with IIUMToday, Ukasyah shared that he started to be active in academic-based society as the Head of Welfare of the Secretariat of Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh (SOFI).
Being active in SOFI as the Head of Welfare, Ukasyah reaffirmed his credibility to lead since he has gained numerous experiences throughout his tenure.
He shared his views on his manifestos as Chairperson of the Secretariat of the Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh and declared the following:
¢ Development of Turath Academy where RKFQ students can actually be precise in their turath’s knowledge in Fiqh and Usul Fiqh (Education)
¢ Centralisation of academics and societies’ matters in a single website to facilitate the informations on Department of Fiqh and Usul Fiqh (Intellectual)
¢ Integration of societies in terms of handling huge programs and ceremonies as well as sharing resources and skills (Social)
When asked on his goals, he said that œfor vision, we aim to strive for holistic students in the area of academics and skills overall.
Ukasyah hoped to contextualise his vision to all the RKFQ students by developing more turath academy to enhance turath skills for RKFQ students.
“I have an intention into bringing more ulama’ to learn from them as well as to also develop more dawrah and ta’sil ilm,” he added.
He also expressed his hope on the ability to develop more programmes that can enhance the RKFQ students’ skills in many aspects.
Ukasyah believed that a good leader is to have good Islamic character, charismatic personality, and have good relationship with lecturers, staff, then the students.
“Male or female both has the capability to be a good leader or dominate in the mainboard. Anyone can be a leader as long as they have the skills to manage the society,” he stressed.
In his concluding remarks, Ukasyah hoped for du’a from the lecturers and students that the upcoming tenures can be managed well by him and to be able to give the best to all his friends and all of the students in IIUM.
