GOMBAK, 13 December 2022: Financial stability is the backbone of good governance and a better future of a society. On this belief, Aimanul stated “To shape the future of IRKHSSS through financial stability” as the goal in his manifesto.

Running for the Treasurer seat is a new challenge for Ahmad Aimanul Hakim bin Ayub to face.

“Before this, I never had any experience as Treasurer, so I have taken this opportunity to challenge myself,” he said.

In an exclusive interview with IIUMToday, Aimanul shared his experience in Harmoni IIUM and made a firm belief to nominate himself to the Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences Students’ Society (IRKHSSS) for the Treasurer seat.

“I was a person in charge of the database for Human Resources and Development for Harmoni IIUM, therefore I grasped the technical skills there and I believe I can apply them as Treasurer for IRKHSSS,” Aimanul shared.

Through this nomination, Aimanul also hoped the momentum of productivity will be boosted as he perceived that the pandemic had robbed his active life as a student once and would like to grab this opportunity to gain experience and contribute to the Kulliyyah.

The third-year major from the Department of History and Civilization believed that all the lessons he learnt during class can be applied wisely as Treasurer.

“If we look at history, there are so many advancements that have happened because of good management and financial stability, that’s the aspiration for me to be a good financial controller for the society.”

Aimanul also expressed his opinion regarding the lower participation for the IRKHSSS 2022/2023 election where he believed that the variety of activities for students to venture in is not limited to campus politics.

“I believe everyone has what they want. So lower participation is not about the lack of awareness of campus politics, but students nowadays have a variety of other activities to participate in,” he added.

He mentioned how there are students who choose to venture into business or become influencers and are not interested in running any seat as this would limit the student’s life to within the campus walls.

Aimanul also opined that those who choose to be involved in campus politics might have their own goals. “Those who chose to do so, have their own vision such as for their future career once they graduate from the alma mater,” Aimanul shared.

Being Treasurer is not only about being the caretaker of the society’s financial affairs. As one of the student leaders, Aimanul also realised his role as the mediator between students of the Kulliyyahs.

“Conducting programmes should not only be the role played by the student leader but should become the agent of unity for students in the Kulliyyah”.

At the end of the interview session, Aimanul mentioned that he would like to know as many students of AHAS KIRKHS as possible to build a bond between him and the students.

“I believe when striving for unity we should realize that bonding brings us together,” he ended.***
