GOMBAK, 11 December 2022: In a world of never-ending crisis, young leaders who are at the forefront of the sciences, law, arts, economics, and culture become the beacon of hope of humankind to change the situation.
This view was shared by the member of the IIUM Boards of Governors, Dato Che Nazli Jaapar, in the ninth session of the 38th of the IIUM Convocation Ceremony 2022.
œWe would like to believe that you are now ready to serve humankind since the world we live in is in need of your help more than ever, she said.
She expressed her heartful gratitude to the graduands investing so much in pursuing their education in the Garden of Knowledge and Virtue despite spending most of their studies during the pandemic.
œThe pandemic has shown that we are not meant to be shackled to ourselves always, she mentioned.
She motivated the graduands to lead the way for what the future entails, shaping new knowledge and innovative ideas to achieve a future that everyone can benefit from.
œBeing IIUM graduates, you have sowed the seeds of strength, intellectually, and spiritually, and have been equipped with the necessary weapons and armor, she mentioned.
Dato’ Che Nazli encouraged the graduands to bring all those strengths and put them to good use not just for themselves but also for the people surrounding them as this is the essence of Rahmatan Lil-Alamin.
œI pray that as you have succeeded in your journey at IIUM, you will achieve even greater successes on your new journey.
In her concluding speech, she urged the graduands to come back every now and then to contribute to the development of the generations to come.***
