GOMBAK, 8 December 2022: “I believe that IIUM graduands are prepared to change the world and their degree is meaningless if not translated to action,” said a member of the IIUM Board of Governors, Prof. Dr. Aminudin Bin Che Ahmad.
Prof. Dr. Aminudin said this in his speech at the seventh session of the 38th IIUM Convocation Ceremony that took place in the IIUM Cultural Center (ICC) on Tuesday (6 December).
On behalf of the university, he expressed his deepest and heartfelt congratulations to 680 IIUM graduates from all Kulliyyahs in Pagoh and Kuantan campuses.
He believed the graduates’ achievements were a testimony of their resilience in pursuing knowledge.
Despite being far from the city, those who were in the Pagoh campus maintained their commitment.
He further called on students from the Kulliyyah of Medicine (KOM), Kuliyyah of Dentistry (KOD), Kulliyyah of Science (KOS), and Kulliyyah of Nursing (KON) from Kuantan campus saying that their passion to become the best in their fields is admirable.
“We are beyond proud with you for being a true manifestation of determination and dedication in the pursue of knowledge,” he added.
Prof. Dr. Aminudin also conveyed his gratitude to the Kulliyyah members, families, and everyone responsible for making the impossible, achievable. He added that without endless support, this journey could have been harder to take.
He explained that after the world was shocked by the COVID-19 pandemic and its never-ending crisis, young leaders like IIUM graduates were the hope for humankind.
“The world never stopped evolving and presenting us with new challenges so we need to use what great Muslims in the past have left for us and offer new solutions to new problems ahead,” he emphasised.
“Be the proud alumni of the IIUM and take pride in carrying out the mission of serving the ummah and bringing Rahmatan lil ‘alamin as well as answering the call of Prophet Muhammad SAW to become the best by benefiting others.
He concluded, by showing appreciation to the Deputy Rector of Academic and Internationalization, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Faris Ismail, who was also the Chairman of the organizing committee of the 38th IIUM Convocation Ceremony.***
