5,189 graduates receive scrolls at IIUM’s 38th Convocation

GOMBAK, 3 December 2022: A total of 5,189 graduates from 17 Kulliyyah of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) received their respective scrolls in various fields at the doctor of philosophy (PhD), master, and degree levels at the 38th IIUM Convocation Ceremony.

The convocation ceremony will last for five days involving nine sessions from 3 – 7 December at the IIUM Cultural Activity Center (CAC), Gombak Campus.

Throughout the five days of the convocation, a total of 4,302 graduates will receive bachelor’s degrees, while 887 will be conferred doctors of philosophy (PhD) and masters.

The first session of the convocation ceremony was officiated earlier today by Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda The Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj, Head of the Constitution of IIUM.

In the same ceremony, Tuanku Raja Permaisuri Agong presented the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Strategic Communication and International Relations to Dato’ Sri Syed Hussien Abd Kadir Al Hashee, Chairman of SME Corp. Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Her Majesty Tuanku also presented the Ibn Khaldun Merit Award for Global Social Transformation to the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).***
