GOMBAK, 19 August 2022: After waiting for almost a year, Nabilah Binti Abdul Hamid expressed her relief for having a proper closure for the chapter of her studies at the 9th session of IIUM’s 37th Convocation Ceremony on Wednesday (17 August).

Graduated from AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Human Sciences with a degree in Political Science, she was listed in the Rector’s List Award for her excellent academic attainment.

Although she was initially majored in Arabic for International Communication, she switched to Political Science major due to her vigorous passion for politics. The decision had made things difficult in terms of academic writing.

“I was learning everything in fully Arabic before, and therefore I did not learn how to cite in English. That has forced me to start from scratch,” Nabilah remarked.

Despite the challenges, she bagged the Rector’s List Award to prove that the degree in Political Science was meant for her.

Following her experience during undergraduate studies, Nabilah surmised her success in the journey of studies is pivoted on good relationships with lecturers who are mostly considerate, kind, and helpful.

“If I have problems with the topics related to my courses, they would invite me to discuss with them at their offices,” Nabilah recounted her relationship with political science lecturers.

Furthermore, Nabilah conceded her friends, who were actively involved in the real world of politics, helped her to understand her studies about politics.

Asked about her plans after graduation, Nabilah divulged that she intended to acquire job experiences before pursuing her education at the master’s level.***
