Every child in this world deserves happiness

You have two hands, one to help yourself and the second to help others” – Rumah Nurul Iman.

Not everyone gets to live fortunately in this world. There are some people who are struggling in every aspect of life and the worst case is people grapple to get food to eat for the day. Thus, others who are lucky or blessed to live comfortably in this world should feel duty bound to lend a hand in helping those in need. Helping others does not just make people feel happy but also makes us happier.

There is a Chinese saying, “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.” It clearly supports that helping others will make your life feels better. It is better to give than to receive.

This is what has been practiced by “Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kasih Nurul Negeri Perak” or also known as “Rumah Nurul Iman” which is a non-government organisations (NGO). It operates a care centre of an orphanage as well as poor people in Perak. It is known as “Pusat Jagaan Anak-Anak Yatim dan Miskin Nurul Iman”. Rumah Nurul Iman is being administered by four officers and six support staffs in taking care of the administration and financial affairs of the care centre.

The members of Rumah Nurul Iman are very professional and ethical in doing the job. All matters pertaining to social works will be carried out according to the policies of the Malaysia Government. Generally, this NGO aims to give protection, and nurture and provide basic education to orphans and poor children. They are working very hard in ensuring these unfortunate children get what they deserve.

Rumah Nurul Iman is very particular about the children’s education. The children will be sent to a government school once they have reached the age of seven. Not only giving knowledge of duniawi but the children also will be attending Fardhu Ain and Al-Quran classes which will be conducted by the hostel itself. The members of the NGO are very firm in taking care of the children’s education. They are playing the role of a parent to these orphans as they also deserve to be loved and get the needs that other children would have.

This NGO truly shows that doing good things can be in any form and does not necessarily means financial. A lot of care is needed by the orphans. They also suggested several ways for the public to be able to help these unfortunate children apart from providing financial assistance. The public can donate clothes, food, stationery, school supplies and others. However, the public must remember that the things they want to donate need to be in a good condition and not something that is already broken or cannot be used.

Rumah Nurul Iman is very systematic in dealing with donations that are received from the public. Every donation or payment that is made to this NGO needs to be named “CHARITY” and this reminder is being inserted into every social media platform that they have. They are not taking any advantage on every charity that is made. For example, a big brand sponsoring food to the orphans, it will not be used for their advertisement to gain fame. Being trustworthy is the most important behaviour that every member of the NGO needs to have. Being honest in dealing with money that is donated is very important. Hence, they come out with a way where every use of money from the charity will be captured and posted on every platform.

It is the time for us to be good to other people. Use your hands by giving to others and remember that everyone deserves to be happy in this world. Let us help the orphans, the poor children, and the unfortunate. ***
