GOMBAK, 15 March 2022: One will not attain greatness without endurance and one will not get glory if one puts fear first, said Faten Sharmila, one of the Kulliyyah Level Award recipients.
Faten Sharmila who majored in Teaching Arabic As A Second Language (TASL), from Kulliyyah of Education uttered this in her valedictorian speech during the 8th session of the IIUM 36th Convocation Ceremony this (Tuesday) afternoon.
She said people who expect glory will never find it without fatigue and will never get his hopes fulfilled without trying.
œAll this while, weve learnt a lot but there is yet another thing that we all need to remember – learn to appreciate others.
œRemember that we cannot stand on our own, said Faten Sharmila.
œOur parents, our teachers, friends, our administrators and even aunties and uncles of Daya Bersih have played their vital roles in helping us to reach where we are now.
She mentioned that œthe hustles are meaningless without their du’as, especially from our parents.
In the midst of her degree journey, she said, she has always ranted to her mother on how tiring and tough the journey was in finishing the degree. Yet, remembering her mother who consistently prayed for her and her siblings was what kept her going at that moment.
œIve always said to my mother, Im tired, Im fatigued. And then, my mother said that she never stopped making prayers for her children, and with her prayers, I am standing here.
œThis gift is for the mothers and the fathers, especially for my mother and my father, Faten Sharmila said.
She further said without her parents, she is nothing. ***
