GOMBAK: 22 February 2022: In the current digital age, the more social media is consumed by individuals, the harder it can be for them to live by their individual definition of beauty and not feeling compelled to conform to society’s standards.
Realising this fact, the Mahallah Representative Council (MRC) of Mahallah Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi in collaboration with IIUMToday will be organising a forum entitled “Beauty in the Eye of The Society” this Sunday (27 February).
Aimed to raise awareness about beauty of standard culture that occurs in the society today, the forum is held to enable students to understand the real definition of beauty.
Apart from that it is also intended to eradicate misunderstanding of the concept of beauty standards viewed by society.
The potential speakers from different backgrounds namely Nina Shahira, a nutritionist, and Jabir Meftah, a model, and a Founder and President of YouthCare Malaysia have been invited to discuss the issue from different perspectives.
The panelists are expected to discuss beauty standards culture among women and men in our society with highlights on its impacts on student’s health and well being.
The live forum will be conducted through Google Meet platform from 9.00 p.m to 10.30 p.m. on Sunday. The seats are limited to 100 participants with the star points provided.
