GOMBAK, 14 July 2021: The current uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic which has hit countries all over the world has forced industry players to be more creative and dynamic in adopting strategies to ensure their continued survival.
It is therefore interesting for academics, scholars and communication students to learn how public relations practitioners are playing their role in meeting the challenges of the industry in navigating a volatile, uncertainty, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) environment.
The Institute of Public Relations Malaysia Student Association (IPRMSA)-IIUM Chapter will hold a webinar, PR Lecture Series 2021, on Saturday (17 July) from 10.00 a.m to 11.30 a.m, on the topic “PR readiness in facing volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environment”.
The speakers at the webinar will be Mr. Jaffri Amin Osman, Vice President of Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM), who is also currently an executive board member of the Switzerland-based Global Alliance (GA) for Public Relations and Communication Management, and GA chair for the Asia Pacific region from 2021 to 2023, and Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Syed Arabi Idid, a senior professor from IIUM’s Department of Communication.
They are expected to provide an insight into the current situation and direction that public relations practitioners are driving the industry and the profession during the pandemic.
According to information received by IIUMToday, IPRMSA-IIUM Chapter is holding the webinar with three main objectives in mind: to obtain a perspective from public relations (PR) practitioners and scholars on the impact of the COVID-19 on the PR industry; to explore how PR strategies have changed in the midst of public health crisis; to obtain insight on public PR readiness in navigating a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) environment in the post-pandemic.
It is highly recommended for communication students to participate in this webinar to benefit them on the knowledge of the industry which would be useful for their future career.
