GOMBAK, 11 November 2018: IIUM became the first university in Malaysia to use E-Scroll system for its 34th convocation ceremony that took place this Saturday (10 November) and would continue until Tuesday (13 November) next week.

The E-Scroll system uses Blockchain technology developed by a team led by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Norbik Bashah Idris from Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT) to scan the QR code printed on the certificate.

This followed a concern by the Ministry of Education on the issue of fake certificate that has been cited globally.
