Six tips for a painless trip

By Shawal Ras

Semester vacation is on the horizon as we complete our final examination. Are you planning for a trip home? Don’t worry, we’re going to help you arrive at your kampung (or your destination) feeling uber rested, ready for that wholesome reunion with your family. Forget about whatever you’ve packed in the last four months and read these tips:

Tip 1: Take a good rest the night before your trip. Going out on the night before will make minor matter (noisy kids, anyone?) seems like a major annoyance.

Tip 2: Go ahead and book yourself a good seat. A seat next to the aisle means convenient bathroom access (yay!). Honestly, you’ll be happy not to be seated by the window next to newlyweds. Too much PDA (public display of affection).

Tip 3: Don’t just sit around, get up and move! On any long flight, any movement is good for your body. Our advice, take a quick walk after a few hours to get that blood circulation flowing.

Tip 4: If you’re on special diet, make your request to your airline in advance. Vegetarian or halal fare is hard to find when you’re on the air, buddy.

Tip 5: Bring a travel pillow. This super cosy extra will give you maximum relaxation quicker than your flight’s seat.

Tip 6: Bad breath after sleeping? No worries, bring your trusted basic toiletries: deodorants, mouthwash, etc. The people sitting next to you will appreciate it.
