GOMBAK, 23 September 2018: PERKIM Festival 2018, previously known as Faith Festival, will be held on Sunday (23 September) until Thursday (27 September) with the theme “Kindness Serves Humanity”.

Organised by PERKIM Secretariat IIUM which is one of the clubs under the University Centre for Community Engagement (UCCE- BUDI), this festival involves 230 committee members, including members and non-members.

PERKIM Festival is an exhibition festival that comes with fun activities and performances by the three target groups which are the aborigines, street friends and mualaf communities. These three target groups will be performing on the PERKIM Tribute Night.

“The objectives of this festival is to introduce and to celebrate the main target groups to IIUM communities. Besides, we are trying to inculcate the sense of humanity and understanding among IIUM students by mingling them with the communities from outside the campus,” PERKIM Festival Executive Manager, Ahmad Zulaini told IIUMToday.

During the five-day festival, there are various activities for the IIUM community to try out such as movie digest, charity baking, blood donation, media workshop, and talk named “See You in Jannah”. All of these activities are very interesting and useful for IIUM community.

Ahmad Zulaini added, “This festival only happens once in two years. I really hope IIUM community can support the festival by joining in the activities during the five days. Hopefully, all can come and enjoy the activities to show appreciations for the efforts put up by committee members.”
