GOMBAK, 16 November 2017: Gemilang Club recently spent quality time during the weekend for a leisure educational trip with primary school students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Pusu and Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Selasih near here.
The participants, comprising 36 students mostly from standards four and five, accompanied by 18 mentors, visited KL Forest Eco Park, Bukit Nanas and Royal Malaysian Police Museum with the objective to strengthen the ukhuwah apart from spending quality time between them.
œWe choose the park and museum because we want to execute an educational based trip as well as appreciating nature and for the participants to know about history, the Programme Manager, Raihanah Arbain explained.
œEven though this trip seemed relax, we put some lessons and new knowledge for them to acquire besides creating good bonding with the mentors, Head of Module Bureau, Siti Nadia Junaidi said.
œThis destination is very suitable as the panorama is so beautiful, natural and inspiring, the event’s photographer, Wan Amir Razif Wan Azuwadi expressed his view.
Throughout the trip, the students were given the opportunity to explore the beauty of the KL Forest Eco Park, through the module prepared by their mentor, such as park tour, explorace and ice-breaking session, besides the interactive way of academic learning.
œWe put some particular academic input in our explore checkpoint such as English, science, and mathematics, including games, to enhance their outside classroom learning in a creative way, Siti Nadia explained about the activities.
She added: œIve been in Gemilang Club for three years now, and this is the most important module we have prepared for the mentees, hopefully this will give positive impact and ease their study in short and long term.
Meanwhile, Wan Amir Razif agreed that this trip will influence positively the students’ views of the future.
œThe participants enjoy all the games and their joys are my joys as well, so I want to catch all of their happiness in the pictures as memories for them in future, he said.
Most of the students were excited and gave good good feedback after the trip.
œThis programme was really fun and I would be very happy to have another opportunity to meet my mentor again, said Sal Nabilah Fadly from Sekolah Kebangsaan Sg. Pusu. ***
