KIRKHS praised for launching “Through The Years:- The Debate Legacy of IIUM” and 30 books

GOMBAK, 17 November 2017: A book entitled ‘Through The Years:-  The Debate Legacy of IIUM’ together with other 30 other books were launched by the Deputy Rector (Academic and Planning), Prof. Dr. Isarji Haji Sarudin, at the Senate Hall IIUM, today.

Also present during the launching were Deputy Rector (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Rahmah Ahmad Haji Osman, the Deputy Regional Director of International Institute of Islamic Thoughts (IIIT), Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Wira Dr. Haji Jamil Haji Osman, Dean of the Kulliyyah, Deputy Deans, Heads of Departments and staff.

During the launching, Prof. Dr. Isarji expressed his endless gratitude towards each of the important persons behind the production of the books as it took only a year for the books to be published.

“I would like to congratulate the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (KIRKHS) as well as the scholars who have demonstrated the level of productivity and evidence of impressiveness on the number of books that are launched today.”

“I am also grateful to Dato’ Jamil for monetary assistance that has been offered by the International Institute of Islamic Thoughts (IIIT) in the form of research grants to assist IIUM staff in working towards publishing those books, as we all know KIRKHS is the heartbeat of IIUM, it is the Kulliyyah that bridges revealed knowledge with human knowledge at its most basic.”

“I hope that through more effort like this, from KIRKHS and other Kuliyyahs, the Islamicisation, integration, mission and vision of the university will be strengthened.

“I am also delighted to launch a book which encapsulates one of the IIUM products of achievement, through the years of the debate legacy of IIUM, that revealed the most notable accomplishment of the IIUM debate and public speaking club.”

The publication of this book marked the celebration of tremendous effort of the debate team and for those who are responsible for training the next generation debaters in English, Malay and Arabic.

“Also, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Prof. Rahmah, the previous Dean of KIRKHS and now the Deputy Rector of Research and Innovation, as well as Prof. Quayum, the acting Dean together with the team, for the dedication and hard work particularly all lecturers, including the administration and support staff, for making this a reality,” said Prof. Dr. Isarji in his closing remarks.***
