GOMBAK, 29 July 2017 – A new paradigm for entrepreneurship education has been introduced by the Minister of Higher Education, Dato Seri Idris Jusoh, on Tuesday (25 July) during the launching ceremony of the Entrepreneurial Educator Summit 2017.
The summit held at Putrajaya Marriot Hotel received good participation from institutions of higher learning in Malaysia, including from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi MARA.
The Secretary-General of Ministry of Higher Education, Tan Sri Dr. Noorul Ainur Mohd. Nur, delivered her opening speech which was followed by the Entrepreneurial Educator forum titled œNew Paradigm for Innovative Teaching and Learning in Entrepreneurship Education which introduced the objective of this Summit to the audiences.
Among the main innovation discussed were the updated and relevant contents that include the new system of 40% theory and 60% practical, and 2-3 credit hours of entrepreneurship class, starting from academic session 2017/2018.
Besides that, the options for experiential entrepreneurial learning such as event management, online business, and small business project, had also been suggested by professors and lecturers of entrepreneurship studies from various universities to be applied by the students to help them in securing job opportunities.
œIts not just about entrepreneurship, but on what we have done at the university, and you are here because you believe in entrepreneurship, Dato Seri Idris said at the launching of its opening.
