GOMBAK, 11 March 2026: World #QuranHour 2026 was held at Masjid Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Gombak, on March 11, bringing together local and international communities to reflect on Surah Al-Muzzammil and its relevance in today’s world.
This year marked the 11th edition of World #QuranHour, carrying the theme “Shaping the Human Self Before Changing the World.”
The event was graced by Sultan of Pahang, Duli Paduka Baginda Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, together with Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Kebawah Duli Paduka Baginda Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Economy, YB Dato’ Indera Mohd Shahar Abdullah; President of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain; Rector of IIUM, Prof. Emeritus Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar; and Founder of the Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF), Hussamuddin Yaacub, along with ambassadors from several countries such as Iran, Oman, Tajikistan, Russia, Jordan, Afghanistan and Iraq.
The focus of this year’s reflection, Surah Al-Muzzammil, offers spiritual guidance and practical strategies for self-development through lessons derived from the experiences of the Prophet.
Through initiatives such as World #QuranHour, organisers hope to encourage individuals to strengthen their relationship with the Quran while promoting solidarity within the global Muslim community.***
