IIUM Heroes strives for safety of IIUM students

GOMBAK, 24 February 2017: As one of the initiatives by the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), IIUM Heroes will start to patrol for two nights weekly to secure IIUM.

They will make a round for two hours starting from 10 p.m until 11.30 p.m. Co-chairperson of Welfare Secretariat of SRC, Syafiqah Iqlima said that the patrol will include at least 15 members in every shift. As of now, IIUM Heroes only have 93 members.

“Usually we will make rounds to dark places, where there’should no electricity. The security of the fellow students is what we prioritise more, so that is why we decided to make rounds at dark places,” she added.

“For this semester, we strive for the addition of our members as we aspire to make rounds for four nights instead of two nights. Besides that, we would like to make two shifts on each night instead of one. In order to achieve that, we need to have more members than we have right now,” she told IIUMToday.

Any IIUM community members who are interested to join IIUM Heroes may reach the SRC. ***
