Students could visit the booths that is open for two days (24 to 25 February 2016) from 8.30 am until 6 pm.
The Programme Manager for CiTRA (2016), Ahmad Shafiq Fahmi Samsudin said, œWe prepare something different for this 2016 CiTRA exhibition by adding fresh concepts which are East and West Concerts, larger than the art market vendors and with games, run by members of CiTRA.
There was a new club in CiTRA which is Arts Club that has enticed students’ attention at the exhibition. Â The club aimed for the authority to provide a platform for members to express the visual art and to gain more general knowledge in arts.
The founder of the Arts Club, Megat, Abdul Rahman Megat Mohd Azlan said, “The idea to make this club came during the taaruf week when I realised that CiTRA should also build a club for visual arts not only in the performance arts.œ
“Surprisingly, the Art Club got so much attention from the crowd and 150 students have registered to become members an hour after the booth was opened, he added.
At the exhibition, members of the university community could also enjoy a variety of food sold by more than 14 market vendors, most of them are by young IIUM entrepreneurs.
“I really love the food and the mini performance by the club members. I think this exhibition connects all students to know the uniqueness of Malay culture in music, dancing and performing arts, to the IIUM community, said Syakila Ismail who is a student from Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences.
This event is open to all, not just for local students, but also for international students, according to the organisers.
