GOMBAK, 24 February 2016: IIUM students got themselves registered today to be part of the programme called Maybank Go Ahead Challenge (MGAC) 2016 aimed at challenging their intellect and creativity and testing their endurance.

This is an international competition organised by Counselling and Career Services Centre in collaboration with Maybank. It is meant for undergraduates as well as postgraduate students with less than two years of working experience.

An Executive of Organising Committee MGAC 2016, Nur Amirah Azlyn said: “The competition is to challenge the students’ intellect and through this programme we will be able to find the best talent for Maybank. It is basically a career opportunity for those who intend to join Maybank.”

She later explained about the prizes that will be awarded to the winners, especially those who are denominated as the best talent in the ‘Maybank Go Ahead Challenge 2016’.

“For the champion team, they will get 40,000 USD, second prize is 20,000 USD and third prize is 10,000 USD. We will later absorb them into Maybank under the Global Maybank Apprentice Programme.”

“This programme is interesting because students can obtain meaningful experience and it also gives us a job opportunity,” said Eira Fazira, a second year communication student who has enrolled herself in the competition.

MGAC 2016 also opens up an opportunity for the students to have a chance to work with Maybank in a fast track way, according to the Maybank executive. ***
