Time management is absolutely the biggest problem for a student in adjusting university life and personal life. Students always find it hard to balance these two major things. Even though attending classes and completing assignments are the top priority for most students, many find that they are not allowing enough time for their studies.
You may try the following tips to help in managing your time:
Firstly, clear your schedule. Try to manage your schedule wisely. Include time for yourself such as exercising as well as classes, family and work. This will help you in managing each second that you have in your life since time is very valuable to the student.
In order to manage the schedule, try to determine what obstruction is in your daily life that may hinder you from following the schedule. Set the limit around being interrupted or rescheduling your work or study time to accommodate others.
The most important reminder is that you need to give full concentration towards studies without feeling guilty about what you are not doing.
Secondly, prioritise. As a student, you may got more than 10 things to do in a day, so the solution is to prioritise or rank it carefully. By this method, you may organise your schedule efficiently.
What has to be done first? When is it due? What is worth more in terms of your grades? All these aspects should be included during the prioritisation process. Make sure your decision will not give any problem or bad result to you since it will affect your next day.
The last tip in managing time is to understand the task clearly. It is normal for a student to get a task from the lecturer or tutor but the difference between a good student from poor one is the level of understanding on the task assigned to them. When you clearly understand the task, it will reduce time in solving the task. Failing to understand the task may lead to the re-doing of the task or wasting time in looking at the unnecessary things.
Last but not least, estimate how much time you need to complete the task. Avoid doing it all at one time and last minute because this will lead to an unorganised situation. Stay up-to-date on assignment to help avoid overload. Good luck!***
