GOMBAK, 25 February 2015 : One programme called Warong: Intellectual & Art was held at Human Sciences (HS) Square today focusing on how to blend along the intellect and art at the same level.
œThis Warong programme is to utilise art throughout the intellectual discourses as well as this programme can also be the best medium for students to share their thought and express their inner talent, said Muhammad A. Rahman who was the Warong programme manager.
He added that this programme had been conducted by seven students who were divided into two groups called documentation team and media team. The former was to produce resolution of what had been discussed and turned it into archive form, and the latter was to promote the programme to others and also to publish the posters.
For the first slot, there was an intellectual talk given by Hafizul Faiz and the President of Student Representative Council (SRC), Hanif Mahpa, talking about how to harmonise the intellectual discourses with art. Hafizul Faiz also said that art and intellect should not have been separated as they complement each other.
There was also a book session named œ Buku Saji œ booth and it functioned as a medium for the students to borrow the books and they also can put their books there that can benefit others. Those who are interested to make their own masterpiece on poem or short essay can contribute on fanzine or independent book.
œThis programme is also to enhance HS students intellect and encourage them to show their talents through arts such as poetry, sing a song and others, said Muhammad. He also hoped that every student could give their full support to their own students programme, especially from HS students themselves. Any suggestion or idea can be shared through Warongs facebook (Warong Official),Twitter (@WarongOfficial) or Instagram (Warong Official) using the hashtag #pulangkejiwa.
Head of Media, Hilal Asyraf said that this Warong programme will be conducted every Wednesday twice a month. He said this would encourage students to attend leisure talk and programme without feeling bored because Warong will always provide entertainment that would educate the soul of the students and an opportunity for the students to show their talents as well.
