After having had sleepless nights studying for an exam, I still feel discouraged and overwhelmed by how it went. Feeling upset I open the door of the classroom, wanting to rush home. I returned to my room and went into a deep sleep.
I had a dream.
In my dream, something catches my attention from the corners of my eyes. In the unusual busyness of the Human Sciences Building corridor at IIUM Gombak, that was filled with students, something stands out. It is a stall with vibrant flowers, decorated very aesthetically, and with a long queue of students. I ask myself, what is the vendor selling so I glance over and see a sign mentioning, “kukii”, I realise all of the students are lining up to buy delicious cookies! This makes me wonder, “Are these cookies really worth the wait?” So, I wait in line till it is finally my turn.
I skim through the menu reading all the various flavours available from classic chocolate chip to adventurous flavours like matcha, red velvet and pistachio kunafa. While the excitement of craving a cookie makes you forget that I cannot afford comfort food at the moment, this gets me relapsing into being upset and not having things go my way again that day. However, with a hint of hope I rummage through my bag and finally stumble upon an orange cash note. I am lucky and that I deserve a self-reward after going through so much earlier with the difficult exam.
Joy fills me, as I am in the best position to decide which cookie flavours to choose from. When stumbling upon the extra RM20 note I decided to get myself two cookies instead of one, considering how cheap and affordable the cookies are. Local cookie brands normally charge a very high price since premium ingredients used can be pricey. But after smelling all the heavenly sweetness of the cookies, it makes me want to buy them all. So, I linger in front of the booth and finally mention my request, “Two classic chocolate chip cookies please.” What better way to purchase cookies for the first time than to stick to the classic flavours right?
The busyness of Human Sciences Building is due to a festival. While there are other booths selling cookies during the festival, kukii cookies surpass all others due to its premium ingredients, not only is it homemade but well curated at that. Once you take a bite, you are taken to a different dimension where all your worries and stress disappear in an instance. The warmth and the melt-in-your-mouth butter cookie will leave anyone dumbfounded. The cookies are well made, as they are not too sweet and not too bland, they suit all kinds of tastebuds, of stressed students to busy lecturers. It is as if you are tasting your mum’s cooking.
Alas, I then went home (in my dream) forgetting about the stress I had faced in the morning with the sweetness of the cookies that is still lingering in my mouth, I decide to go through kukii’s Instagram page leaving a positive review on their cookies and realise that everyone else also felt the same way as I did, after reading the comments. There are several comments requesting kukii to have a pop-up booth in IIUM because of how scrumptious and reasonably priced the cookies are.
I wake up suddenly remembering my dream.
I surf kukii’s Instagram page (@kukii.my) trying to find out where they would open their pop-up booth next. Then I come across a post uploaded recently on its upcoming booth at Gombak Food Festival 3.0 from 6-7 January 2026, 9am to 4pm on both days. The brand is not a stranger to the Gombak Food Festival as it had participated in the second food festival as mentioned on IIUMToday (Kukii: Where Sincerity Meets Sweetness at Gombak Food Festival 2.0 – IIUM Today).
FOMO kicks in, I feel the urge to run and grab the cookies before they sell out.
When visiting the Gombak Food Festival 3.0 and given the option between kukii and other cookie brands, do choose Kukii as it is known for its scrumptious cookies and affordable prices for students. kukii is well-versed socially and can be found on Instagram, TikTok and their cookies can even be purchased online through Shopee or through their Telegram group (https://t.me/kukiimy). It is no doubt that the kukii booth will catch your attention when strolling through the Gombak Food Festival 3.0 at Human Sciences Square as customers flood its stall eagerly buying the scrumptious soft chewy cookies. Do not miss this opportunity to get yourselves kukii cookies while they are nearby because once they are gone, you’ll be craving for more!
