GOMBAK, 30 May 2025: IIUM students explored a workshop titled, “Student Preneurship in the Digital Era: Foundation and Future Skills”. It was held at the Multimedia Lab, on 28th May 2025. The workshop featured CD Lee, Reskills Ed Tech partnership Manager.
CD Lee highlighted the contrast between traditional entrepreneurs and the emerging wave of digital-age studentpreneurs. “In the past, entrepreneurs relied on agencies, networks, and years of experience. Today, you have AI, social media, and tools that were unimaginable 20 years ago,” he said.
The workshop emphasized how current students, though young, possess unprecedented access to resources such as generative AI and online platforms that reduce startup barriers. “You use AI for assignments, planning, even writing emails. But remember, over-reliance makes us stop thinking critically,” Lee cautioned, urging students to maintain a balance between convenience and cognitive skill-building.
Hence, it is important for young entrepreneurs to focus on transparency, authenticity, and delivering real value,” he added, urging students to adapt their strategies to meet the expectations of today’s well-informed consumers.
