GOMBAK, 16 December 2025: TEDxIIUM is set to make its highly anticipated return on 18 December 2025 at the Main Auditorium, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), bringing together ideas, innovation, and meaningful discourse under the globally recognised TEDx platform.
The press conference was organised by students from the Corporate Writing class (COMM 3317) under the Department of Communication, AHAS KIRKHS. It was held on Monday, 15 December 2025, at 5.00 p.m. at the IIUMTV Studio, Gombak.
This year’s theme, “Back to the Roots,” reflects its aim to rediscover the beginnings, embrace authenticity, and uphold the core values that shape identity.
TEDxIIUM is not just a stage, it is a platform of ideas worth spreading that can inspire, connect, and create positive impact.
“TEDxIIUM is built on the mission of giving back to students by featuring insights from respected industry influencers, entrepreneurs, and professionals,” said Fatheh, Programme Manager of TEDxIIUM 2025. At the same time, it provides committee members with valuable exposure in organising a high-standard and professional programme.
The event will feature a lineup of inspiring speakers from diverse professional backgrounds, including:
● Mr. Aiman Amri – Clinical Psychologist and HRD Corp–Certified Trainer
● Mr. Wan Emir Astar – Executive Chairman at W5 Architects
● Prof. Dr. Dawood Abdulmalek Yahya Al-Hidabi – Educator, Curriculum Expert, and Specialists in Educational Leadership
● Ms. Zahirah Munjit – Influencer, Full-Time Traveller, and Hiker
● Mr. AbdulAkeem Akinbode- IIUM PhD candidate in Banking and Finance, Specialist in Islamic Finance, Training, and Capacity Development

Fatheh stated that for the first time that special student discounts will be offered for TEDxIIUM 2025. Students may purchase tickets at RM15, which includes refreshments without meals, or RM25, which includes both refreshments and meals. This initiative aims to make the event more accessible to students while enhancing their overall experience.
