GOMBAK, 12 May 2025: A special session with the Deputy Rector of Student Development and Community Engagement (ODRSDCE) IIUM, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Fauzan Noordin, was held on 6 May 2025 together with AHAS KIRKHS Eid celebration at IIUM Gombak. It provided a platform for engagement and open discussion between ODRSDCE and student leaders while celebrating Eid.

The session started with a leisure “Eid & Eat” session. Then registration for the special session followed, along with the recitation of Asma al-Husna and the IIUM Anthem. The event proceeded with the introductory remarks by emcee and a welcoming speech by Dean of AHAS KIRKHS, Prof. Dr. Shukran Abdul Rahman. Then, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Fauzan Noordin gave his speech to the audience.

His speech included the “Implementing Madani Values” initiative that emphasizes three core principles: prosperity, trust, and education. Prosperity is depicted as a balance between worldly success and spiritual fulfillment. Trust is built on three pillars: confidence in God, oneself, and the system. The initiative also included events like the “Syarahan Idea Madani” talk, which aims to further explore and promote these values.

He also highlighted the importance of care and compassion, respect, and innovation. He emphasizesd that caring and compassionate individuals are valuable community assets. Respect is a two-way street, where respecting others leads to being respected in return. Innovation is encouraged through the use of technology, and by maintaining an open heart and mind.

He also mentioned the concept of “Mahasiswa Madani,” which represents students who are balanced, principled, and forward-thinking. These students excel academically while upholding noble character, civic-mindedness, and compassion. Rooted in the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI, they embody values such as trust, respect, innovation, well-being, and sustainability, serving as drivers of positive change for the nation. The initiative also emphasized sustainability across spiritual, intellectual, physical, and financial dimensions.

After giving the speech, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Fauzan, together with Prof. Dr. Shukran Abd. Rahman, and AHAS KIRKHS Deputy Dean of Student Development and Community Engagement, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Noh Abdul Jalil, started an interactive session with the students. Approximately six students asked questions, which were answered accordingly.
