GOMBAK, 14 October 2024: Book talks delivered by intellectual panels, book giveaways, and speed reading workshops are among the exciting activities that will be held in conjunction with the IIUM Book Festival 2024, which will take place from 16 to 19 October 2024.
One of the main objectives of this book festival is to revitalize and enhance the vibrancy of the book industry, which is on the brink of extinction due to the increasing use of social media, leading to a decline in both book purchases and readership.
Additionally, the IIUM Book Festival 2024 serves as a platform that brings together a wide range of books from various genres, making it easier and more affordable for students to access comprehensive reading materials.
Furthermore, IIUM Press, one of the festival’s strategic partners, aspires for this event to become one of the most highly anticipated annual gatherings at IIUM, hoping it will generate excitement across the entire community.
Some of the fun yet educational activities scheduled for the festival include a book talk titled, “Journey to the Narrative Spaces of Malay Literature” by a well-known Malaysian writer, Prof. Emeritus Dr. Muhammad Haji Salleh, pop quizzes, lucky draws, the IIUM Press Book Launching of 2024 Publications, and much more.***
