Exhibition of Empowering Persons with Disabilities through Entrepreneurship

GOMBAK, 20 December 2023: After successfully pitching Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) campaigns for organisations that relate to persons with disabilities (PwDs) in the last few weeks, now the students of COMM3560: IMC will continue implementing their campaigns by organising the Exhibition of Empowering Persons with Disabilities through Entrepreneurship, on 21 December 2023, at the Human Sciences Square of the Human Sciences Building, IIUM Gombak from 8.30am to 5pm.

The exhibition is organised in collaboration with Communication Students’ Association (COSA), Support Association for Parents of Special Needs Children (SUPPORT) and eight organisations related to PwDs. Apart from the sharing sessions, visitors will be able to interact with the persons working at the organisations and be involved in games that are fun and happening.

The event is also organised in conjunction with International Day for Persons with Disabilities 2023 and the IIUM Disability Grand Awareness Campaign 2023.

Exhibition tentative for tomorrow (21/12/2023)

It will be a platform for IMC students and organisations related to PwDs to set up a booth and give a sharing session of their activities that empower PwDs in their everyday life as well as an opportunity to sell their respective products. The eight organisations will be: the Association of Blind Muslims Malaysia (PERTIS), Persatuan Kebajikan Ahsana, Autism Cafe Project, Pertubuhan Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (PDK) Kamii Gombak Setia, Dyslexia Cafe, Rasa Damai Wellness, Akademi Remaja Islam Autisma (ARISMA), and, Klink-Care Centre.

All are invited to visit the exhibition in order to understand the life of PwDs better and how entrepreneurship empowers them. It is hoped that the exhibition can spark conversations in spreading awareness of the organisations, the life of PwDs as well as increasing their product sales.
