IIUM Career Fair 2023: Uncovering Careers for Graduates

GOMBAK, 29 October 2023: IIUM Career Fair 2023 returned to navigate future graduates and students into the professional world, starting from 25 until 26 October 2023 at the IIUM Cultural Centre Hall (ICC).

Organised by the IIUM Counseling and Career Service Centre (CCSC) in collaboration with JobStreet Malaysia, the event provided a platform for students to meet potential employers and consult their career pathways as there were 21 participating companies like CIMB, Prasarana, MYFutureJobs, and PKNS Real Estate.

In the opening ceremony, the Director of CCSC, Br. Saiful Redza Mohamed highlighted the opportunities for students to connect with the respective companies and receive consultation on professional careers, especially on salary guidelines, in his welcoming speech.

The event was then officially launched by the Deputy Rector of Student Development and Community Engagement, Prof. Dr. Akmal Khuzairy Abd Rahman who shared his appreciation towards exhibitors and students in ensuring the success of the programme.

Prof. Dr. Akmal Khuzairy conveyed that the students should take the chance to ask participating companies on the expectations of the industry and try to fill in the gaps in order to elevate themselves among the 300,000 graduating students in Malaysia every year.

Furthermore, he shared the concerns of final-year students about their future upon graduation and society expectations. Hence, the career fair should help the students to experiment with opportunities as they are at the age of ‘make it or break it’.

“Leading the way is our strong drive, I hope that it would transform IIUM graduates to be the best amongst the best in embarking their future career,” he said.

Moreover, he expressed his gratitude towards companies that were participating as they put their beliefs in IIUM students and graduates to serve the community and nation, locally and globally.

Finally, the opening ceremony was officiated by the cutting of ceremonial banners by Prof. Dr. Akmal Khuzairy and Br. Saiful Redza, and the presentation of a montage video by the committee. The ceremony closed with the presentation of tokens of appreciation to all 21 participating companies.***
