GOMBAK, 14 December 2022: The Secretariat of Communication, Sarah Kamilia binti Mohd Razi, urged IIUM students to practice their rights to vote for the leaders that they believe will serve the community right.

She mentioned that every student deserves excellent and competent leaders and in order to accomplish that, students need to pay attention to the candidates’ manifestos, missions, and visions.

In her first manifesto, Sarah Kamilia previously stated that she wanted to establish an official email for the Student Academic and Engagement bureau to cater with students’ academic needs.

“By doing this, questions or inquiries regarding study plans or academic matters that are usually sent by students through Instagram will not be overlooked,” she explained.

She went on to discuss her second manifesto, in which she planned on collaborating with societies within the Communication Department to encourage students to join and showcase the talents they might have inside themselves.

In an interview with IIUMToday, she mentioned the reason she nominated herself as the Secretariat of Communication and was inspired by the current president of Communication Student Association (COSA), Wan Nisrina binti Wan Muzafar Shah.

“I am also a big believer that to make a difference, you would have to be the change itself, that pushed me to nominate myself for this election.”

She added that besides being passionate, humble, willing to listen, and learn from others, she is confident to carry out the responsibilities and amanah that was given to her.

Sarah Kamilia joined COSA and was appointed as the Assistant Head Bureau 2 for the Multimedia Bureau during her first year and entering her second year, she was appointed as the Head of Bureau for Multimedia and Strategic Communication.***
