GOMBAK, 6 December: The award recipient from Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Law (AIKOL), Mohd Zaidi bin Zambri, expressed his gratitude and blessing in his valedictorian speech at the second session of IIUM’s 38th Convocation on 4 December.

“IIUM graduates excel in most fields based on my 20 years of experience in Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), especially the field that is very close to my heart, the legal field,” said the recipient of the Best Student Award for master level.

Mohd Zaidi who graduated in Master of Comparative of Laws also cited verse 69 from Surah Al-Ankabut in his speech that those who benefit people are the best among people, which he then related with the concept of rahmatan lil alamin.

“Every single time I came across IIUM alumni out there, I could already tell that they are IIUM alumni even without asking, because IIUM graduates have a special presence,” he reiterated.

Being a student, especially when he has been in the professional sector, Mohd Zaidi relayed a message to the audience in the hall to ponder upon.

“When it gets difficult, remember that our endeavour in benefitting the ummah will be rewarded by Allah SWT,” he explained.

He further expressed his utmost gratitude towards the committee of IIUM convocation for successfully managing this memorable event and was proud to receive his scroll in the alma mater for the second time.

“There is no words that can describe my gratitude for my family who gave me never-ending support through this tough journey as well as the lecturers from AIKOL,” he continued.

As part of the RMP, Mohd Zaidi also expressed his special gratitude towards the Department of Crime and Narcotic Division, for the opportunity to continue his lifelong journey of education.***
